Service Manager (Heat Pumps & Renewable Energy Services)\n\nMidlands | Full-Time | Permanent\n\nWe are currently partnering with a growing renewable energy and heat pump specialist to recruit a Service Manager to lead and develop their aftersales and maintenance division.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced service professional to join a business operating at the forefront of the UK's transition to low-carbon heating. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring exceptional customer support, driving operational performance, and building a scalable service function to support continued business growth.\n\nThe Company\n\nOur client is a specialist provider of:\n\nAir source heat pump systems\nRenewable heating solutions\nSolar and energy technologies\nCommissioning, maintenance, and monitoring servicesWith a strong reputation for quality installations and customer service, they work across residential and light commercial sectors, delivering sustainable energy solutions throughout the South East.\n\nAs demand for renewable heating continues to grow, the business is investing heavily in its service and maintenance operations to support an expanding installed base.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Service Manager, you will take ownership of the company's service and maintenance department, ensuring the efficient delivery of planned maintenance, reactive support, commissioning assistance, and warranty services.\n\nYou will lead a team of field engineers while acting as the key link between customers, technical teams, and senior management.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nService Operations\n\nManaging the day-to-day operation of the service department\nCoordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules\nOverseeing reactive service and breakdown response activities\nManaging engineer workloads and resource planning\nEnsuring service KPIs and response times are achieved\n\nTeam Leadership\n\nLeading, mentoring, and developing service engineers\nSupporting recruitment and onboarding of new engineers\nDelivering performance reviews and development plans\nPromoting a strong customer-focused culture\n\nCustomer & Technical Support\n\nActing as an escalation point for complex technical issues\nSupporting customers through warranty and service-related matters\nMaintaining strong client relationships and high levels of customer satisfaction\nWorking closely with installation teams to ensure smooth project handovers\n\nCompliance & Quality\n\nEnsuring compliance with health & safety regulations\nMaintaining service standards and technical procedures\nMonitoring service quality and implementing continuous improvements\nSupporting manufacturer accreditation and training requirements\n\nCommercial Performance\n\nManaging service contracts and maintenance agreements\nIdentifying opportunities for additional service revenue\nSupporting the growth of aftermarket and maintenance offerings\nMonitoring departmental budgets and operational performance\n\nThe Candidate\n\nWe are looking for a technically capable and commercially aware service professional with experience within renewable energy, HVAC, or heating services.\n\nEssential:\n\nCurrently a Service Manager or similar\nExperience with heat pump commissioning and fault finding\nKnowledge of renewable heating technologies\nTechnical qualification in engineering, heating, or building services\nExperience managing service contracts and warranty processes\n\nThe Package\n\nSalary £50,000 to £60,000\nCompany vehicle or car allowance\nPension\nOngoing manufacturer and technical training\nStrong career development opportunities\nOpportunity to join a rapidly growing renewable energy business\n\nCareer Progression\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join a business in a high-growth sector where the service function is becoming increasingly important.\n\nFor ambitious individuals, there is genuine scope to progress into:\n\nHead of Service\nOperations Manager\nOperations DirectorAs the business continues to expand its presence within the renewable energy market.\n\nWhy Apply?\n\nThis role offers the chance to play a key part in shaping and developing a growing service department within a forward-thinking renewable energy business.
