SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1) – Primary School – Cambridge

Start Date: September 2026Location: CambridgePay Rate: £14.24 – £15.00 per hourContract: Full-time

We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Cambridge from September. This is a full-time, 1:1 support role, working closely with a pupil who requires additional support to access learning and thrive in the classroom.

The Role:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs
  • Supporting learning, engagement, and emotional wellbeing
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies
  • Encouraging independence and positive behaviour

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant (essential)
  • Experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis
  • Strong understanding of SEN needs and support strategies
  • Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
