SEN Cover Supervisor\n\nSheffield | In-Person | Flexible Hours | Supply Basis\n\nTradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting enthusiastic, adaptable, and confident SEN Cover Supervisors to work across specialist schools and provisions throughout Sheffield on a supply basis.\n\nThis rewarding role involves supervising and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the absence of the class teacher. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive learning environment, ensuring students remain engaged with their learning while receiving the support they need to succeed.\n\nWorking across a range of specialist settings, you will support pupils with a variety of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.\n\nThe Role\n\nDeliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the classroom teacher.\nSupervise and support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs.\nMaintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.\nAdapt activities and communication styles to meet individual pupil needs.\nSupport behaviour management strategies and encourage positive engagement.\nWork collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and wider school staff.\nProvide feedback on pupil progress, behaviour, and engagement throughout the day.\n\nThe Ideal Candidate Will Have\n\nExperience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.\nPrevious experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, or similar role is desirable.\nStrong communication and classroom management skills.\nA patient, flexible, and proactive approach.\nConfidence leading groups of students and managing behaviour positively.\nA genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.\nA valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.Experience within specialist schools, alternative provisions, or SEN environments would be highly advantageous but is not essential.\n\nWhat Tradewind Recruitment Offers\n\nFlexible supply work to suit your availability.\nCompetitive rates of pay.\nOpportunities to gain experience across a variety of specialist educational settings.\nFree CPD and professional development opportunities.\nOngoing support from a dedicated consultant.\nThe opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs.\n\nSalary\n\nPay rates are competitive and will vary depending on experience, qualifications, and availability.\n\nCandidates at the lower end of the pay scale are typically those with less relevant experience or more limited availability.
