All assessment activity is carried out in line with Lead Edge policies, the relevant assessment plans, and regulatory requirements.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Undertake training and standardisation as required by Lead Edge.\n\n * Maintain up‑to‑date CPD relevant to carpentry and joinery.\n\n * Deliver EPAs in line with national standards and assessment guidance.\n\n * Provide accurate, detailed, and well‑justified grading decisions.\n\n * Follow all assessment procedures and quality assurance requirements set by Lead Edge.\n\n * Report risks, issues, and any suspected malpractice.\n\n * Support appeals process where required.\n\n * Declare any conflicts of interest.\n\n * Contribute to continuous improvement of the EPA service.\n\nEssential Requirements\n\n * Occupational competence in carpentry and/or joinery.\n\n * A Level 3 qualification in Site Carpentry or Architectural Joinery (or equivalent experience).\n\n * Assessor qualification (CAVA, A1, TAQA or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.\n\n * Recent (within the last 2 years) industry experience.\n\n * Experience with structured professional discussions or interviews.\n\n * Strong understanding of compliance, assessment, or regulated environments.\n\n * Evidence of ongoing CPD.\n\n * Enhanced DBS check on the update service.\n\nOther Requirements\n\n * UK‑based within the Birmingham area\n\n * Suitable IT equipment for remote assessment.\n\n * Secure email address and reliable broadband.\n\n * Ability to travel when onsite assessments are required.\n\n * Legal right to work in the UK.\n\nDesirable\n\n * Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification or willingness to work towards one.\n\n * Experience making grading decisions.\n\n * Understanding of Prevent and Safeguarding duties.\n\nIf interested please apply now, we are shortlisting and would be keen to hear from you
