We achieve this by working together to campaign for positive change, provide personalised support, and create opportunities for independent living.\n\nRole Purpose\n\nAs an Employability Coach, your primary goal is to support people with learning disabilities to move towards meaningful, paid employment within their communities.\n\nYou will help individuals to:\n\nDevelop practical and transferable employment skills\nGain real-world work experience\nIncrease independence and confidence\nAchieve personal aspirations\nMake informed choices about their future\nStay safe and supported throughout their journey\n\nYou will work closely with local employers, Job Centres, third sector organisations, local authorities, and families to identify and secure suitable employment opportunities.\n\nAs part of the Supported Employment team, you will guide individuals from skill development through to sustained, long-term employment.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nParticipant Support & Development\n\n * Provide tailored, person-centred employability support, including job coaching, job search, and interview preparation\n\n * Deliver on-the-job training, breaking tasks into manageable steps using Training in Systematic Instruction (TSI)\n\n * Support individuals during work trials and placements\n\n * Promote independence through structured and gradually reduced (“graded”) support\n\n * Help individuals develop key workplace skills such as communication, timekeeping, and professional behaviour\n\n * Support travel training, workplace integration, and social inclusion\n\n * Workplace Integration\n\n * Liaise with employers to understand workplace expectations, culture, and policies\n\n * Support individuals to integrate successfully into their roles and workplace environments\n\n * Identify reasonable adjustments and assistive technology to support success\n\n * Ensure individuals understand and follow health and safety procedures\n\nPlanning & Progression\n\n * Contribute to and implement individual employment plans\n\n * Monitor progress and adapt support strategies as needed\n\n * Encourage long-term employability skills beyond current placements\n\n * Support access to resources and funding opportunities where appropriate\n\n * Collaboration & Communication\n\n * Work in partnership with families, carers, employers, and professionals to resolve challenges\n\n * Communicate effectively with managers and stakeholders regarding participant progress\n\n * Deliver or support disability awareness and inclusion practices within workplaces\n\n * Attend and contribute to meetings, training sessions, and reviews\n\nEmployer Engagement\n\n * Build relationships with local and national employers\n\n * Identify and develop employment opportunities\n\n * Promote inclusive employment practices\n\nCompliance & Administration\n\n * Complete accurate records and reports in line with organisational and commissioner requirements\n\n * Ensure risk assessments and support plans are in place and regularly reviewed\n\n * Follow organisational policies, including health and safety standards\n\nYou will be:\n\n * Passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities\n\n * A strong communicator with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people\n\n * Patient, adaptable, and solution-focused\n\n * Organised and able to manage a varied workload\n\nEssential Requirements\nGCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade 5 or above)\nFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work\n\nAdditional information: This role requires flexibility, as duties may vary depending on the needs of the individuals and employers you support
